Privacy policy
Your moments stay yours.
ReelYours makes your reels on your iPhone. It has no account, no ads and no analytics. Your videos, photos and sound never leave your iPhone, and the words spoken in a video leave it only if you choose to have AI look for more retakes.
What the app uses
You choose the videos, photos and music to use with Apple’s pickers. ReelYours copies what you choose into its own storage on your iPhone to make and save your drafts; your originals are not changed. If an item is in iCloud, Apple’s picker may download it to your iPhone first. You can also choose a photo of yourself for a talk’s name card, or a photo to use as a talk’s background.
ReelYours doesn’t use your location, and the reels it makes never contain it. Depending on your settings, the photos and videos you pick may come with their location, which stays in those copies on your iPhone; you can stop that in Settings › ReelYours › Photos › Options.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything ReelYours does with your media happens on your iPhone: picking moments, analysing pictures and sound, finding retakes, writing captions and titles, replacing backgrounds, mixing music and making the reel. Your drafts, and the copies of your media in them, are stored only on your iPhone, are not included in iCloud backups, and are removed when you delete the app. You can delete a draft at any time, or keep only its finished reel. The one exception is the optional AI check for retakes, below.
The details you enter for your talks (your name, a second line such as your specialty or city, your Instagram handle and your photo) are stored on your iPhone and only appear in reels you make.
The speech model for talks
To find the retakes in Hindi talks, ReelYours uses a speech model that runs on your iPhone; English talks use Apple’s speech recognition on your iPhone instead and don’t need it. So that the model is ready if a talk turns out to be in Hindi, ReelYours downloads it (about 650 MB) once, in the background over Wi-Fi: the first time you start a talk reel, or when you first open the app on an iPhone set to India or to Hindi. It comes from our own download server, which Cloudflare runs for us, and ReelYours may occasionally check there for an updated version. Like any download, this lets Cloudflare’s servers see your iPhone’s internet (IP) address and which files were requested, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy; we don’t use that to identify you. Nothing from your videos, photos or talks is sent. The download uses Wi-Fi, and ReelYours asks before using mobile data. Apart from the optional AI check below, this is the only time ReelYours connects to the internet.
Finding more retakes with AI (optional)
From version 1.1, after ReelYours has checked a talk for retakes on your iPhone, you can ask AI to look for more. It’s your choice each time, and ReelYours asks before your first check. For each video you choose, it sends the words that speech recognition wrote, with when each was said, and where in the video there was sound. It never sends the video or its audio, your photos, or your talk details.
These go to our server, which Cloudflare runs for us, and from there to Anthropic, whose AI (Claude) finds the retakes. Anthropic doesn’t use them to train its models, and deletes them within 30 days, except anything its safety systems flag, which it may keep longer; see Anthropic’s privacy policy. Like any connection, this lets Cloudflare’s servers see your iPhone’s internet (IP) address.
Our server keeps the AI’s answer (where to cut, with a few words quoted from the video to show what each cut is) for up to an hour, so a check interrupted when you leave the app isn’t lost; then it’s deleted. So that checks stay fair and come only from the real ReelYours app, it also keeps a random ID for your copy of the app, a key from Apple’s App Attest that shows the app is genuine, and how many checks were made each day. None of these say who you are. Our logs record how long each check took, its size and its cost, never what was said. Your free checks are counted on your iPhone.
Cloudflare and Anthropic handle this data only to run the check, and protect it at least as well as this policy describes. Nothing is sent unless you tap the AI check, so not using it is enough to stop. Answers are deleted from our server within an hour and nothing we keep says who you are, so there’s nothing to ask us to delete; Anthropic deletes what it received within 30 days.
Permissions
Speech Recognition lets ReelYours listen to the speech in your videos, on your iPhone, to write captions for moments reels and find retakes in talk reels. When it uses Apple’s speech recognition, it asks Apple to keep it on the device. If you don’t allow it, moments reels are made without captions, and in talk reels you trim retakes yourself.
Notifications are optional. ReelYours uses them only to tell you, from your iPhone, when a talk is ready to review or when the speech model is waiting for Wi-Fi.
Add to Photos is requested only when you save a finished reel to Photos. ReelYours can’t see your photo library; you choose what to import each time.
On iOS 26 and later, checking a talk for retakes can carry on for a while after you leave the app. The speech model can also be prepared while your iPhone charges. Both happen on your iPhone.
Sharing
Apart from the spoken words of videos you check with AI, ReelYours never uploads your content. If you save a reel to Photos or share it, the place you send it, and any iCloud settings you use, handle that copy under their own terms.
Data collection and contact
ReelYours has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it doesn’t collect your media or how you use the app. Only the optional AI check sends anything from your talks, as described above, and nothing is sold or used for advertising. If you email support, we use what you choose to include only to answer you. Contact: support@reelyours.com.
Problem reports
ReelYours keeps a technical log on your iPhone: how long steps take, memory use and error codes, never what your reels say or show. It leaves your iPhone only if you choose Send feedback (in the palette menu) or Report a problem (on a message about something that went wrong), which open an email to us with the last 7 days of the log attached, along with your app version, iPhone model, iOS version and free storage. You can read it, add to it or not send it.
Beta versions
If you test ReelYours through Apple’s TestFlight, Apple manages the installation and may give us crash reports, and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send; a screenshot may show part of a reel.
Last updated: October 29, 2026. If ReelYours ever sends anything more from your iPhone, this policy and the app will say so before you can use it.
